The Nutshell:
“Bolt” is an amusing family film loaded with hilarious characters that never wear out their welcome. This isn’t a groundbreaking feature like some of Pixar’s pictures, but it stacks up well against Disney’s other CG-animated efforts. It’s a shame it wasn’t a huge box office success. Hopefully it finds new life on home video. The Blu-ray disc is certainly a great way to see the film with a nearly flawless A/V presentation, but extras are a bit too thin. Still, this disc comes highly recommended.

The Nutshell:
“Pinocchio” is an unforgettable movie experience and now it’s paired with an awesome Blu-ray loaded with hours of goodies and flawless, A/V presentation. Fans should buy this disc. It’s well worth the cost.

The Nutshell:
“Milk” is great film marred by the director’s consistent flaws and Sean Penn’s over-the-top performance that might convince and move some, but not this critic. Penn overplays every scene. Still, Harvey Milk’s passionate, powerful message lives on in this uplifting biopic. The Blu-ray lacks any meaty extras, but the transfer is solid overall.

The Nutshell:
If you’re the slightest bit curious about this film, give it a rent. It’s a very moving film filled with brilliant cinematography, fantastic performances and perfect direction. This Blu-ray disc is a decent improvement over the HD DVD and vast visual improvement over the DVD. I suggest fans pick this one up.

The Nutshell:
“Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder” is an amusing, but immensely uneven film. It does house a few decent jokes, but it’s not quite as joke-filled as “The Simpson’s Movie” or even selected episodes of “Futurama.” But, the film’s social commentary is both relevant and inventive. The Blu-ray is quite great, boasting a solid transfer and a well designed audio mix. The extras are also absorbing and enlightening. Fans should be pleased.

The Nutshell:
Sadly, this season starts to show its legs, though it still remains funnier than most shows on TV. There are a few diamonds among the rough, but the majority of these episodes consist of puerile, wasteful humor.

The Nutshell:
Fans of “Donnie Darko” should pick this disc up. It doesn’t have the best picture, but it has some interesting special features and, of course, a new cut of the film. Newcomers should check out the original theatrical version first, then check out the DC. I don’t usually suggest such a thing, but the original cut is very much worth watching and it will allow you to appreciate the new version even more (or less as it may be).

The Nutshell:
“Watchmen” is brought to life like never before. What an extraordinary undertaking this film is. The Blu-ray is an equally grand undertaking, featuring a reference A/V presentation, flawed (only minimally) by the lack of any in-depth extras. But, Warner will likely fill the gaps with BD-Live making this a must-own title for any fan of this amazing series.

The Nutshell:
This two-disc definitive edition of The Passion of the Christ is worth buying whether one is a devoted Christian who wants the best quality version of this tortured masterpiece for their collection, or for film buffs interested in how the movie was made. There’s a little something for everyone.

The Nutshell:
“Wonder Woman” arrives in style, with lavish animation, a great voice cast and enough action for two pictures. Fans should be pleased. The Blu-ray comes packed with a great transfer, thundering audio and great special features. I wish there was a little more related to the film here, but what we get is incredibly enticing.
